Črt Sojar Voglar

Artist

Črt Sojar Voglar studied composition and music theory with Professor Marko Mihevc at the Ljubljana Academy of Music graduating with distinction in September of 2000. He furthered his education by attending composition courses lead by Uroš Rojko, Marko Ruždjak, Francis Burt, as well as Amadeus Tommasi’s course in jazz composition. In December of 2004, he received his master’s degree in music theory for his thesis: Stylistic Transformations within Orchestral Works of Dr Danilo Švara. He currently teaches at the Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory (chair of the Department of Harmony and Counterpoint). For a number of years, he lectured on music theory subjects at the Ljubljana Academy of Music. Many of his students won first places at composition competitions.

Dalaj Eegol

Dalai Eegol, also known by his former name Ali En and nicknamed RecycleMan, is one of the pioneers of Slovene rap and funk as well as one of the first Slovenian MCs to break into the Slovenian music scene with his debut album Leva scena (The Left Scene). Today, the album is considered a groundbreaker for the Slovenian rap and hip-hop scene.

Dalibor Miklavčič

Dalibor Miklavčič is a versatile artist who has devoted himself to playing keyboard instruments with an unparalleled passion. He graduated in organ from Vienna’s University of Music, and specialised in early music at the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan. As a researcher of historical performance practices Miklavčič devotes much of his attention to interpretations on pedal pianoforte and pedal harpsichord. An internationally sought-after artist and scholar, Miklavčič gives lectures on his musicological research findings and presents the unique sound of his pedal instruments all over the world. He also devotes his time to teaching music.

Damijan Močnik

Artist

Composer Damijan Močnik has dedicated himself primarily to vocal music. Taking inspiration from carefully selected texts, his musical idiom is based on innovative rhythmic and melodic ideas. He holds the posts of music professor and choirmaster at the Diocesan Classical Gymnasium in Ljubljana, where he has established a choral pyramid.

Bosnian-born (Tuzla) Damir Avdić is one of ex-Yugoslavia’s loudest and most infamous singer-songwriters (professing a punk-like aesthetics) who has attained practically iconic status.

Dan D

The Dan D band is based in Novo Mesto and was founded in 1996. The group has divergent musical identities: they can be one of the most recognizable Slovenian rock bands, performing hits such as Voda (Water), Čas (Time), Ko hodiš nad oblaki (When Walking Above the Couds) and similar, and they can be an acoustic band performing in a quiet, intimate evening using unconventional instruments such as grater, bottles, lute (‘tamburica’) and bells.

In addition, Darla Smoking represents the voice of the myriads from around the globe – alternatively dark and cool dancey blend of dub, electronica, ethno and world music.
