Unicum Festival

The International contemporary music festival Musica Danubiana was first organized by the Slovenian section of ISCM in 1998. The festival was renamed in 2004 and now continues the tradition as the international festival of contemporary music Unicum, which is held biannually. The festival features performances of new compositions for orchestra, chamber ensembles, choir and solo instruments by composers in Slovenia and abroad.

The Urbano Dejanje Festival (Urban Act Festival), taking place over the course of five August days at the Tobačna Cultural Centre since 2015, represents the vibrant diversity of urban subcultures and music genres.

Vičstock Festival

Launched in 1994 by Vič Grammar School students, Vičstock provides a showcase for young people’s music. The festival aims to promote young, unestablished music groups. At an audition, a jury composed of competent representatives of the music industry selects who gets to perform at the May outdoor festival.

Vurberk Folk-pop Music Festival

The Vurberk Folk-pop Music Festival, whose history goes back over 25 years, takes place on the third Saturday of June in the courtyard of the Vurberk Castle.

Winter Days of Metal

The Winter Days of Metal was launched in 2017 by the experienced team behind MetalDays, Slovenia’s biggest metal music festival. Danica Hall in Bohinjska Bistrica provides the venue for the three-day festival. Winter Days of Metal is not only a celebration of metal music, but also a real winter festival holiday.

Zasavje Noisefest International

First organised in 2014, Zasavje Noisefest International is an international festival of experimental sound and noise music that takes place over the first weekend in June in one of Trbovlje-Hrastnik’s disused coalmine buildings.
