Kristijan Krajnčan (1986) alias DrummingCellist was born into a family of musicians and started playing classical cello at five and jazz drums at the age of ten. After graduting from a Music High School in both instruments, he moved to The Netherlands, where he graduated in jazz drums at the Prince Claus Conservatory (Groningen) and obtained an MA in Composing for Film from the Amsterdam Conservatory.

Dead Poets Society is a pop rock band from Novo Mesto, which was established in September 1990. Many different musicians were part of the band in the past and among them also the renowned jazz saxophone player Igor Lumpert.

Dunraven

Dunraven is a power trio from Bistrica ob Sotli, a place known for its rich tradition in the underground scene, sometimes referred to as "Seattle ob Sotli." The band's two vocalists, one on bass and the other on guitar, hauntingly trade off lead and harmony in the likes of 90s grunge rock, while their guitar melodies add an essence of Slavic mysticism to the otherwise heavy, distorted riff sound. Often playing around with odd rhythms and almost tribal-like beats anchored by their drummer, Dunraven offers as breath of fresh air in a time of over-production and musical escapism.

Duo Aritmija

Duo Aritmija is the successor of the group Aritmija. The duo uses the rhythm and melodies of ethnic Balkan musical tradition and combines them with flamenco. Elements of jazz and country music can also be felt.

Duo Dendrocopos

The DENDROCOPOS DUO was established in April 2017 by two students of percussion Jan Čibej and Luka Poljanec. At the initiative of their mentor Prof. Simon Klavžar, they took up the challenge of participating in the International Percussion Competition in Luxembourg in the category Percussion Duos (IPCL 2018). Their success at the competition, which took place in February 2018, was remarkable. They became Percussion Duo Laureates by winning the first jury prize as well as the special “JEAN GIERES” audience prize. Jan and Luka wish to continue their exceptional work with as many concerts and appearances worldwide as possible in order to expand their knowledge and experiences in collaboration with the best of the world’s percussionists.

Duo Silence

Silence is a Slovene electronic, synthpop and soundtrack music composing duo consisting of Boris Benko (singer and songwriter) and Primož Hladnik (keyboards and arrangements). Their fanbase and their tours are currently limited to Slovenia, Germany and parts of Eastern Europe. Outside the region, the band is probably mostly known for the album "Vain, A Tribute To A Ghost" and their collaboration with Laibach on the album Volk in 2006. The music is characterized by melancholy, experimental sounds and vocal arrangements as well as meticulous production. The band is also known to incorporate various live instruments in their recordings, such as the piano, violin, viola, double bass, cello, valiha and other. The duo is recognized for their vast involvement in music writing for contemporary plays in Slovenian theater. Usually they will tour with the cast, or even be part of it, and perform the music live.

Dvidevat

A representative of the younger generation of the Slovenian electronic music scene, dvidevat has been filling local dance floors since 2019. As a producer, she explores the sonic realms between old school Detroit electro, breakbeat and modern-day techno. Her music is forged from predominantly raw percussion and minimalist melodic lines, creating a distinctive form of intergalactic funk in the tradition of legends, such as Helena Hauff and DJ Stingray. A similar kinetic energy and bassbin pressure also mark her fast-paced DJ sets, during which you will rarely find time to chat and sip booze. Her discography includes various guest appearances on Kamizdat compilations, a split release with her colleague Nulla and debut solo EP “Idle Infection”, released in January on Honest Work Recordings.

džeZZva

Music by džeZZva, a quartet from Murska Sobota, is a nod to both the tradition of American jazz culture with elements of European classical music and South European popular and folk culture. Through their highly sensitive communication and remarkable interplay the musicians do a brilliant job persuading even the most discerning listeners and the widest of audiences. džeZZva’s music is based on their original compositions, which sometimes include a hint of rearranged traditional songs. In their music, the quartet distinguishably merge Pannonian melodies with the sounds of other cultures. The collective has also achieved distinction abroad. In July 2019, they performed at the prestigious French jazz festival Jazz à Vienne. The band erupted onto the Slovenian music scene with their debut album “džeZZva”. The release ranked among RTV Slovenia music editors’ top 20 records. Released in 2016, their live recording features the Hidden Courtyard concert in Murska Sobota, “Live from the Hidden Courtyard”, and their previous record, “Sintur” (2015), entered the region’s top 30 jazz albums chart.
