A national institute established to support the worldwide community of Hungarian education, the Balassi Institute plays a key role in the professional direction of cultural affairs. Bar Gabrijel

Bar pr` Gabrijelu has been a culture and music venue since it opened in 1995. It was established to address the general shortage of concert life in the region and provide a suitable music venue in Cerkno. In addition to hosting concerts, the Bar broadened its repertoire to include organising festivals soon after its establishment. In October 2015, a team headed by Aleš Florjančič opened a club with the intention of featuring a programme of truly fascinating culture and music with an atmosphere of excitement and good vibes. The original idea about music genres that revolve around blues and jazz has expanded through the club’s evolvement. While the basement club scene visually still resembles the world’s legendary blues/jazz clubs, its programming policy has embraced the fact that Slovenia has a great number of music artists who would love to play at a boutique venue and in front of discerning audiences that know exactly what they want.
