masharik is a four-member band from Bled, which has been active since 2018. Their music intertwines blues rock with elements of psychedelia, and a touch of soul is added by the specific, sensitive vocals of Maša Bogataj, who with her feminine rock'n'roll energy also perfectly controls the electric guitar. She is supported vocally by Luka Zemljič on keyboards, organ and backing vocals, Bojan Marinko on drums and Jaka Pogačar on bass guitar.

Matej Kastelic

One of the youngest Slovenian composers Matej Kastelic (b. 1994) is currently finishing his Master’s degree at Academy for Music in Ljubljana. He composes mainly choral music, though he was writing music for the theatre in the last year. His musical language is very penetrating, exposing the highlights of the lyrics, which he chooses very attentively. However young, Kastelic’s music has already been performed worldwide – at festivals and competitions of choral music.

Matej Krajnc - Matt Kaye

Born in 1975 in Maribor, Slovenia (EU), Matej Krajnc holds a master’s degree in comparative literature. He published his first book in 1988 and started combining poetry and music into a singer-songwriter routine in 1992. He writes his English-language material under the pseudonym of Matt Kaye and records in English as Matej Krajnc, Matt Kaye and Blind Boy Spectacles (gospel and blues standards).

Matija Krečič

Violinist, composer and arranger Matija Krečič completed his studies in violin (Prof. Fister) and composition (Prof. Stingl) at the Klagenfurt State Conservatory in 2015. He actively collaborates with Magnific, Tomaž Hostnik and the band Momento Cigana, and in the past also with the band Terrafolk, Tango Story, with Galo and Severa Gjurin, Mar Django, Skarabej, Orkestrada... He also collaborates with prominent jazz musicians and bands - P'Jays, Marko Črnčec, Žan Tetičković. He wrote music for several short films and theater performances (Puppet Theater Maribor, SNG Drama Maribor). He is the author of orchestral arrangements of Magnifico's music for the film "Montevideo, see you!" directed by Dragan Bjelogrlić. He created two musical images of the first TV Slovenija program (2016, 2017-). At the Popevka festival, he received the prize of the expert jury for the best adaptation twice (2018, 2023). In 2021, his music in the feature film "Inventura" directed by Darko Sinko was awarded the best original score at the Slovenian Film Festival.

Matjaž Bogataj

Soloist and chamber musician Matjaž Bogataj has built a distinguished international career. He currently holds the post of the leader of the second violins in the Bavarian State Orchestra.

Matter

Through regular live appearances Matter have won huge popularity and become one of Slovenia’s most sough-after hip-hop bands. According to the artists, they draw inspiration mainly from punk, Albert Camus’ surrealist works and films by directors such as Jim Jarmusch, Wes Anderson and Terry Gilliam.

Mauricio Valdés San Emeterio

Since 1996, Mauricio Valdes has been focusing on the use of technology for the advancement of art in the field of interactive genres and modes of sound production. His opus encompasses works in the field of sound art, theatre music and film sores. He regularly lectures at 15 universities, cultural and research centres in 8 different countries. In addition to his personal artistic career, he directs and organizes the independent festival SoundHub.

MD7 Ensemble

Formed in 2001 under the artistic leadership of Pavel Mihelčič, the MD7 Contemporary Music Ensemble primarily performs new music composed especially for them. Comprising a unique combination of instruments, the permanent line-up morphs to play in different instrumental formations. The septet interprets works that consistently take into account the specific make-up of the ensemble and are either commissioned or dedicated to them.
