The New Swing Quartet from Šentjurje was active from 1968 to 2008 and performed a repertoire mostly based on gospel music The Quartet regrouped in 2008 to celebrate their 50th anniversary at sold-out venues and has since continued to perform.

Soprano Nika Gorič graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, and went on to complete her master’s and PhD degrees at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In July 2017, Nika Gorič received the highest accolade presented by this prestigious academy, the Queen’s Commendation for Excellence for the best all-round student of the year. Her studies were supported by the prestigious Charles Mackerras Opera Scholarship and, previously, by the Maria Callas Award. Recent engagements include Aricie in Rameau’s Hippolyte et Aricie, produced by the Opera Rara Festival Krakow; Gilda in Rigoletto with Scottish Opera; Italian singer in Strauss’ Capriccio under the baton of Douglas Boyd and produced by Garsington Opera. She toured China as part of the Salzburg Festival’s Young Singers Project, performed Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, joined the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir for their traditional New Year’s Concert at Cankarjev dom and gave performances at the Festival Ljubljana. Her recent Philharmonia Orchestra debut at the Royal Festival Hall London with Ubuquité by Vito Žuraj, whose Book of Bodies she premiered with the Slovenian Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra as part of the Harmony of the Spheres Series and later at the Zagreb Biennial, shows her affinity for the contemporary repertoire and an interest in working with living composers. On the concert platform, Nika was soloist in a staged production of Handel’s Messiah with Opéra National de Bordeaux. Other recital highlights include Wigmore Hall, the Klavier Festival Ruhr with Graham Johnson, a performance with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, a solo recital at Kings Place and several appearances at the Oxford Lieder Festival. Her recent projects have included Bach’s cantata Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen in London’s Duke’s Hall and an appearance on BBC Radio 3 in a duet from Bach’s cantata Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis.

Nika Sole is a versatile musician, puppeteer and singer, who absorbs ethnic music elements into her musical expression. Together with different international ensembles and colleagues, she blends traditional ethnic music styles with her own authored music and the poetry of France Prešeren, Feri Lainšček, Srečko Kosovel, Alma Karlin and other Slovenian poets. 

Nikki Louder is a chaotic noise rock trio from the Kamnik area, which has played over 200 shows all over the former Yugoslavia region as well as a bunch of tours in Central Europe and the UK. Niko Novak was a member of the punk rock band Dicky B. Hardy and the renegade duo Incurabili. As a singer-songwriter hummingly recounts his sadly colored songs in a restrained bardic manner.

Nikolaj Sajko graduated in cello performance at The Academy of Music in Ljubljana in the class of Ciril Škerjanec and completed his Master of Science at the same institution. He perfected his performance further at postgraduate studies at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz. He was awarded the Klasinc diploma and Antonio Tarsia prize; other important achievements come from national and international competitions for young musicians in Gorizia, Lienz, Zagreb and Ljubljana. He was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and the World Youth Orchestra. Since 2006 Nikolaj is an assistant solo cellist in the Slovene National Theatre Maribor Symphony Orchestra and a professor at the Conservatory for Music and Ballet in Maribor. Since 2012 he is a program leader of Chamber music series Carpe artem.

Nina Bulatovix is a three-member rock and post-punk group, active since 2009.

Slovenian soprano Nina Dominko is a graduate of Music Pedagogy at the Faculty of Pedagogy in Maribor. She also graduated with highest praise from the Academy of Music in Ljubljana in the class of Pia Brodnik. She regularly attends seminars and summer schools (P. Brodnik, B. Fink, C. Spencer, S. McCoy).

She became widely known at the age of seventeen, when she won a talent show in 2005. Nina now performs at larger festivals and venues.

The works of composer Nina Šenk have been performed at numerous important national and international festivals and at many music venues around the world with various orchestras and ensembles. She received her first international exposure in 2004 when winning the European award for best composition at the Young Euro Classic Festival in Berlin. Her international reputation solidified with prominent concerts in Salzburg and Paris, as well as New York where Šenk’s composition was performed by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. After completing her music composition studies Nina decided to embark on an independent career; the many commissions she receives from Slovenia and abroad allow her to practise her profession as a freelancer.
