Slavko Ivančić

In the course of his long career, Slavko Ivančić sang in a variety of line-ups; he is most well known as the lead vocalist of the widely known bands Bazar and Faraoni. Since 2000, he has been dedicating his time to a successful solo career.

Slon in Sadež

Artist

Slon in Sadež, aka Jure Karas and Igor Bračič, have been creating music together since 2001. They named themselves after an obscure English joke, which they felt reflected their unconventional sound. Despite requests from music experts, they’ve released four albums: Kabáre (2003), Komercialne pizde (2005), Štafeta mladosti (2006), and Sponzorska plata (2010), plus a radio sketch album. They’ve also been active as TV hosts, radio personalities, and creators of advertisements, sketches, and events. The duo also holds a gold trophy in the “Gostilniški peteroboj™” pub games competition.

Slovene National Theatre Maribor Orchestra

Orchestra consists of musicians from the Slovene National Theatre Maribor. It is a regular opera orchestra but gives also symphonic concerts.

Slovenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ljubljana Ochestra

The ensemble of the Slovenian National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ljubljana (SNG Opera in balet Ljubljana) performs an extensive repertoire of classical and modern operas, ballets and concert works. Each season it gives approximately 150 performances, both at home and abroad. Its opera and ballet ensembles and orchestra have enjoyed successful collaborations with Slovenian and international artists and producers.

Slovenian Percussion Project - SToP

Academically educated musicians gathered to play quality chamber music and exploit new percussion sounds. They upgrade their musical and social mission by staging educational concerts for the young, by organising seminars and the BumFest festival and by actively encouraging Slovenian composers to write percussion music. The unique ensemble consists of established percussionists from different parts of Slovenia: Barbara Kresnik, Marina Golja, Matevž Bajde, Damir Korošec, Franci Krevh, Tomaž Lojen, Davor Plamberger and Dejan Tamše. They have played on numerous stages in Slovenia and abroad. Recently StoP has become involved in other musical and non-musical art genres: singing, dancing, video etc. Thus it has discovered synergy in other art fields and (consciously) shifted from performing strictly classical percussion programme. The ensemble won the Župančič Award in 2013 and the Prešeren Fund Award in 2014.

Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra

The history of the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and its predecessors Academia Philharmonicorum (1701), the Philharmonic Society (1794), and the first Slovenian Philharmonic (1908-1913) make it one of the oldest in the world. The Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra has reaffirmed its reputation on numerous tours to European cultural centres and in the United States of America and Japan, as well as presenting itself at many renowned international festivals. For many years, the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra has been giving 32 subscription concerts per season in the Gallus Hall of the Cankar Cultural and Congress Centre (the central national cultural institution), as well as presenting concerts on special occasions and musical matinees for young listeners. The concert activity of the orchestra is documented on more than 80 compact discs.

Rapper Smaal Tokk creates his music on the thin line between entertaining pop and subtle socially critical music. In his expression he uses parody.

Smetnaiki

Artist

Smetnaki is a Slovenian band from Kranj that blends ska, punk, and funk. They have been active since 2017 and underwent a lineup change in 2020. In 2022, they won Škisolov and Šourock, releasing their first singles, Vrvohodec and Vožna. In 2023, they released the EP Funkyskapunk inc., showcasing their energetic style. With their genre fusion and strong stage presence, they are quickly gaining recognition on the Slovenian music scene.

Snøgg

Snøgg is an experimental black metal band from Velenje, Slovenia, founded in 2013. They describe their music as freeride black metal, as they do not set boundaries in exploring the vast landscape of black metal sound and other neighbouring extreme and alternative genres. In addition to the Slovenian stages, they have toured southern and western Europe five times, visiting countries such as the Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. They have also played at events and festivals in Germany and the Netherlands.

Sol may

Artist

Sol May is a synonym for the 19-year-old solo musician who combines her own written poetry with music. Her songs are in their most raw form when they're combined with singing and piano. It is very often that her songs explain an everyday situations that happened to her and how she perceived the situation. She is currently recording her first solo album, which will be released at the end of spring. Besides composing and songwriting, she is also a compassionate book lover, ballet dancer, matcha lover and a film fanatic.
