Zingelci

The name of the trio derives from the local dialect and is one of the numerous terms denoting folk musicians in Slovenian Istria. The line-up of Zingelci follows the typical configuration of the folk bands of the Northern, that is, Slovenian Istria. They play the region’s most characteristic folk dances, including: šaltin, mafrina, šete paši, do paši, mazurka, cotić, etc.

Zoran Predin

Zoran Predin has made a name for himself as a solo performer – an acclaimed singer-songwriter and chansonnier – as well as frontman of the New Wave/rock group Lačni Franz. He has achieved distinction throughout the territory of former Yugoslavia.

ZveN / Zvedana Novaković

ZveN / Zvezdana Novaković is a young multiply awarded artist, harpist, composer, performer and singer, who explores her potentials in the frames of classical, jazz and folk music traditions. She is author of many compositions for theatre and puppet shows, and a regular collaborator of the legendary Slovenian writer and poet Svetlana Makarovič, the cult band Laibach, Macedonian jazz maestro Vasko Atanasovski and others. Zvezdana is also the founding member of various groups like Slovena Voices (Bulgaria), Bosa (Brazil), The Voice of the Strings (Sweden), Vellamo & Faronika (Finland) and others. At MENT 2020, she will present her solo performance.

Žiga Murko

His curiosity and fascination with the unknown compelled him to experiment with a vast variety of art forms, ranging from jazz, electronic beats, improvisation and to soul music. He graduated on the Jazz Academy in Rotterdam as a trombonist, but is active as well as a producer, composer and singer. Today his discography counts more than 30 solo and collaboration projects for labels as Radio Juicy, Urban Waves and rx:tx, He's Dj show stands out because of his unique live trombone improvisation and his selection of soul, hip-hop, and funk music earned him a spot on festivals as Jazz Festival Ljubljana, Sonae Porto, 12 Point as a member of the collective Container Doxa, but also on contemporary electronic music platforms like Boiler Room. In 2018 he released his first two singles as a singer and songwriter - Shy Girl and Not Knowing you.

Živa Loštrek

Oboist Živa Loštrek has performed with various Slovenian professional orchestras, also as a soloist, and is currently pursuing a career abroad (Germany), giving concerts and playing at festivals as soloist, orchestra musician and member of different chamber music ensembles.

Živa Ploj Peršuh

Živa Ploj Peršuh is a conductor with broad symphonic and diverse opera repertoire. She is a regular guest in Slovene National Theater Opera Ljubljana, where she has firstly appeared by conducting Strauss’ Salome. She regularly conducts the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, both Symphony Orchestras of the Slovene National Theatre in Maribor and Ljubljana and the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra. She established the Ljubljana International Orchestra in 2010. The orchestra has members from all over the world and has toured in Italy, Serbia, Great Britain and Spain.
