Moonlee Records & Booking is an independent record label from Ljubljana running since 2004. Under the helm of Mr. Moonlee, the label releases music and books concerts for various bands from the former Yugoslavia region (Repetitor, Borghesia, Bernays Propaganda, ŽEN, Seine, Debeli Precjednik, Nikki Louder).

Moonlight Sky’s output is characterised by a diversity of genres, which includes fusion jazz, rock, blues and ethnic rhythms from around the world. The group’s melodious compositions, complexity of rhythm, technical prowess and congruent music making all speak to the band’s quality. Moonlight Sky is best experienced performing live.

Groove death metal group Morywa was established in 2013.

Ljubljana-based DJ Moska, who currently lives and works in Vienna, is a member of the Service and Whammy collectives. She has performed in various European countries and cities, major festivals and radio stations. She curates a weekly show Mishmash Mo' on the internet station Radio Zero. She occasionally organises various events, and as a DJ she mostly works in genres such as footwork, ghettotech, juke, bass, hip-hop, afrobeat, breakbeat and funk. She most often builds her selection during the performance itself, likes to mix different genres and enjoys subtle communication with the audience.

Ena kritiško najbolj cenjenih in slogovno kameleonskih slovenskih poosamosvojitvenih rock zasedb nas je leta 2022 presenetila z novim albumom Lying Cobra, ki predstavlja radikalen odmik od prejšnjih izdaj. Ploščo je navdahnila psihedelična avantgarda poznih 60. let, kar se odraža v večplastni, kristalno čisti produkciji, subtilnih manipulacijah analognih sintetizatorjev, božajočih večglasjih in počasi razvijajočih se aranžmajih, ki vas vodijo v spremenjena stanja zavesti.

Moving as a Giant is a Slovenian noise-via-post-rock band formed in 2022 in Murska Sobota. In 2023 they took part in the Radio Študent Club Marathon, the yearly club tour through the Slovenian club underground, and in 2024 they released their self-titled debut album on Kapa Records, which received an overwhelmingly positive response from critics and listeners alike. Their shared passion for noise is manifested in powerful and noisy synth lines and rhythmically as well as compositionally unconventional post-rock foundations, intersected by deep and passionate, though at times also very vulnerable and emotional female vocals.

MRFY is the most successful Slovenian indie rock band of the past half decade. With a relaxed approach, witty attitude and unique aesthetic, the four-piece has developed an original contemporary rock sound that won over the Slovenian public. Their debut album Story (2018) was an important landmark for the local music scene as it inventively broadened the meaning of Slovenian indie rock. Many singles from their sophomore album Use (2022) have become major hits on the national radio Val 202. Last spring, the band returned to the studio for the third time and recorded their first album in English, which they plan on releasing in 2024.

An international festival of noise music organised by the Collective for the Development of Youth Culture, Mrož Fest is held each autumn in the Menza pri koritu Club. Inheriting its orientation and conceptual framework from the earlier Noise Festival, the event has since 2015 borne the name of Primož Cerkvenik – Mrož, the deceased driving force behind the organising team.

Despite her genre commitment issues, the rising DJ/producer msn gf, a member of the Ljubljana collectives Ustanova and Nimaš Izbire, remains devoted to the bittersweet drama of forgotten pop ballads, spiced up with contemporary cutting-edge production. She is a regular at Metekova’s clubs, has performed at domestic festivals like Grounded and SONICA, and has so far released two tracks.
