Bogdana Herman

Bogdana Herman is the first voice of Slovenian folk song. For more than three decades she has been exploring and reviving Slovenian musical heritage. Whilst mostly performing unaccompanied, Bogdana is always open to various musical collaborations. She has repeatedly worked with a variety of music figures, including Tomaž Pengov, Mira Omerzel-Terlep, Matija Terlep, Jure Tori, Svetlana Makarovič, Lado Jakša, Borut Savski, Vlado Kreslin, etc., etc.

Bojana Šaljić Podešva

Artist

Composer Bojana Šaljić Podešva continues to expand the boundaries of her creative work. After a series of electroacoustic pieces, Podešva has delved into live electronics, exploring its incorporation into stage performance. She has established artistic partnerships with various instrumentalists, including improvisers, and adopted conceptual and experimental approaches to sound, focusing on how it is felt, perceived, understood.

Borghesia

Formed in Ljubljana in 1982 by former members of the alternative theatre group Theatre FV-112/15, Borghesia is a Slovenian electronic and rock music group. Until the late 1980s Borghesia pursued the path of a multimedia concept collective, founded on the idea of giving prominence to video as a medium equal to sound. The collective disbanded around 1995 and was reanimated in 2009 with a compilation CD comprising tracks from their previous albums. The album And Man Created God, released in 2014 by the American label Metropolis Records, marked the resurrection of Borghesia as a septet with a new, rock-infused sound. Proti kapitulaciji, an album featuring musical settings of poems by modernist poet Srečko Kosovel, came out in 2018.

Borut Kržišnik

Artist

One of Slovenia’s most audacious and innovative new music composers and artists, Borut Kržišnik's style has been influenced by his experiences in the experimental jazz band Data Direct and collaborations with the groups Laibach and Borghesia. Adopting a unique way of composing based on an array of sound processing software, Kržišnik has made a number of solo albums, and wrote music for film, theatre and dance performances, art videos and other projects.

Borut Mori

Artist

After graduating from the Secondary Music and Ballet School in Maribor, Mori studied the accordion at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. During this period, he won several prizes at various music competitions. After obtaining his bachelor’s degree, Mori started to compose his own music, which he played at various festivals in Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy and Slovakia. The duo “Igmar Jenner & Borut Mori” won the “2010 Austrian World Music Award”. His musical works have been recorded by several radio stations. Borut Mori is an accordion teacher at the Maribor Conservatory of Music and Ballet.

Bossa de Novo

Artist

Slovenian band Bossa de Novo was founded in 2003 and though loyal to Brazilian bossa nova standards, their repertoire features songs in Portuguese, French, Slovene and Serbo-Croatian languages.

Boštjan Franetič

Artist

Boštjan Franetič is a Slovenian musician, composer, guitarist and teacher who lives and works in Ljubljana. He learned his first chords from his father, then studied with renowned musicians such as Igor Lunder, Vedad Hadžiavdić, Peter Micić, Igor Bezget and Matej Hotko. His educational path also took him to the provincial conservatory in Cologne, Austria, to study jazz guitar, where he graduated in 2010 with professor Agostino di Giorgio. He was a member of the bands Flip Skuj, Litošt, Akami, Na lepem svetni and the Kostanje sextet, and he currently works in the band Orkestrada, the collective Sve boje jazza, in the flamenco duo Franetič & Mandžuka and the latest quartet named after him, with which he is on the Klopotec label recently released the debut album Siciljanka.

Boštjan Gartner

Boštjan Gartner started performing as a singer-songwriter in smaller venues in the 1980s. In 1987, he performed at the Glas mladih Slovenije event in Črnomlje, and in 1989, accompanied by guest musicians, he recorded the first studio recordings produced by Radio Slovenia in Studio 14. In 1992, he recorded a collection of eight songs in the Tin Music studio accompanied only by guitar, which some radio stations started playing them.

Boštjan Gombač

Gombač is one of the most sought-after Slovenian clarinet players. Proficient in playing numerous instruments, such as different flutes and percussion instruments, he collaborates with many different bands. He performed with the Irish group The Dubliners and with Jani Kovačič, Zoran Predin, Josipa Lisac, Siddharta, and the Mar Django ensemble, Fake Orchestra, Altaria, Terra Mystica, Terrafolk, Olivija, Brina, Vlado Batista as well as the Slovenian Military Orchestra and the Slovenia RTV Big Band… He is a member of the Katalena band and Sounds of Slovenia. He writes music for film and theatre and works sporadically as a studio musician.

Boštjan Narat

Founder and leader of the acclaimed ethno-rock band Katalena, Boštjan Narat has lately also made a name for himself as a singer-songwriter. He received an award at the KantFest International Festival.
