Vito Marenče

Artist

Vito Marenče is a Slovenian guitarist and composer specializing in flamenco. He began his musical journey with classical and jazz guitar, later studying flamenco at the Rotterdam Conservatorium under Paco Peña. He leads the Vito Marenče Flamenco Group, blending flamenco with elements of jazz, Indian, Arabic, and Latin American music. He has performed at international festivals and teaches at Pionirski dom in Ljubljana.

Vito Žuraj

Artist

Vito Žuraj is a Slovenian composer born in 1979. He studied composition in Ljubljana, Dresden, and Karlsruhe. Known for his powerful and intricate compositions, Žuraj’s works often feature spatial sound concepts and are tailored to performers. His music has been performed by prestigious ensembles like the New York Philharmonic and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. His opera Blühen premiered in 2023 at Frankfurt Opera and was named “World Premiere of the Year” by Opernwelt.

Vladimir Hrovat

Artist

Composer and violinist Vladimir Hrovat is member of the Society of Slovenian Composers. Spanning a broad spectrum of genres, his award-winning music has been published and performed both in Slovenia and abroad. In addition to composing, he devotes his time to playing harmonica and leading Sorarmonica, a leading Slovenian harmonica ensemble, he is engaged in concert performing mainly classical music, with repertoire from the Renaissance and Baroque to the present day.

Vladimir Mlinarić

Artist

Born in Pula, he studied in Ljubljana in the class of prof. Z. Novak, with whom he also completed postgraduate studies. He studied in Vienna in the class of L. Brumberg, and at summer seminars with prof. K. Boginu, L. Hallmann Russell and A. Valdmi. He has performed as a soloist or in various chamber ensembles throughout Europe, as well as in the USA, China and Chile. Member of only the Luwigan trio (winners of the Bettet and Župančič awards). He works as a piano professor at the Ljubljana Academy of Music, leads seminars, and is a member of juries at international piano competitions in Russia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia, Italy and Croatia.

Vlado Kreslin

Vlado Kreslin is a Slovenian singer-songwriter, poet, and folk-rock musician born in 1953 in Beltinci. He began his career with rock bands like Horizont and Martin Krpan, later blending traditional Prekmurje folk music with modern styles through collaborations with Beltinška banda and Mali bogovi. Renowned for revitalizing Slovenian folk music, he has performed internationally and worked with artists such as R.E.M. and The Dubliners. 

Vocal band Kreativo

Since 2013, the Kreativo Vocal Band has been captivating audiences with regular vocal performances, starting with their debut album “Kreativo,” a tribute to Slovenian music. In their journey, they’ve earned notable achievements, including silver and bronze awards at the International A Cappella Competition Graz and first place at the Slovenian A Cappella Festival in 2016. They’ve also performed at international festivals and released their latest album on USB. Their music spans jazz, pop, rock, and folk.

Vocal group 4Given

4Given is a Slovenian gospel vocal group known for their fresh take on the genre. All members are musically educated and have a passion for vocal music, especially performing as a male quartet. Influenced by renowned vocal groups and gospel artists, their performances of classic gospel standards are praised for their authenticity. They arrange their own music, using only their voices to create rich, full sounds. 4Given has performed in Slovenia, Europe, and Australia, spreading joy through music and often participating in charity events.

Bassless is a modern internationally renowned and awarded a cappella group from Slovenia. The five singers have been making music together since 2013. They perform covers of various musical genres and original music. Their distinctive musical expression is characterised by the combination of popular, rhythmic electronic and jazzy, traditional a cappella elements. That makes them a perfect choice for a student party, rock concert or more sophisticated venues, such as official, corporate or wedding celebrations. Vocal group Jazzva

Jazzva entered the world of vocal music more than a decade ago. Our path is one of discovering the human voice, writing new stories, finding harmonies and playing with different colours and effects. We try to find a special relationship with each song we perform and we aspire to recreate it authentically and vividly for our audience. Jazzva’s repertoire is comprised of a wide range of genres; from pop, rock and jazz to arrangements of folk songs and more. We are not afraid of new challenges, we grow each year and so do our ambitions. We realize them by performing at home and abroad, organising our own a cappella festival, recording and attending festivals.

Vollmaier

Sašo Vollmaier is a Slovenian composer, pianist, performer, and pedagogue. He collaborates with Panteatre and the Roy Hart International Art Centre in Paris, as well as the Atelier of Performing Arts in Düsseldorf. Since 2014, he has been teaching at the Academy of Arts in Arezzo, Italy. In recent years, Vollmaier has focused on solo projects, including Vollmaier – Kind of Laibach, Vollmaier:Nietzsche, and Vollmaier:Ligeti (How to Explain Ligeti to a Dead Audience). He seeks his expression in darker sonic landscapes, bridging the classical and improvisational realms – a sonic quality recognised by Yamaha, which named him a Yamaha Artist in April 2023. In recent years, Vollmaier has also been active in performance and theatre, composing music for dance and theatrical productions. Sašo Vollmaier is a Yamaha Artist. The concert is supported by Yamaha Slovenia in cooperation with the Japan Piano Centre Ljubljana.
