Orto Fest

An international club festival, Orto Fest takes place throughout the month of April at Ljubljana’s Orto Bar. Over the course of its history, Orto Fest has hosted over 500 music bands and artists, which makes it a unique Slovenian club festival. It presents numerous Slovenian and international music acts, predominantly focusing on rock music and its various subgenres.

Overjam International Reggae Festival

The reggae festival is held at Sotočje, the confluence of two mountain rivers – Soča and Tolminka. Music-wise, Overjam aims is to cover a wide gamut of reggae genres and subcultures, from ska to jungle, and from dub to dancehall. Since 2013, the festival’s different stages, concerts, as well as numerous DJs and selectors, have ensured that over the course of seven festival days the venue in Tolmin sparkles in shades of red, gold and green.

Petroleum Beat Festival

A two-day event, the Petroleum Beat Festival takes place in May at the speedway stadium in Petišovci. The punk-rock festival was launched in 2017.

Pihnfest

Pihnfest is a traditional international music festival held by the Cerkno Brass Band Society. This attractive street festival brings together musicians and enlivens the city centre.

Piran Summer Festival

Pisana Loka Festival

Pisana Loka (Colourful Loka) is Škofja Loka’s biggest festival. Running in the old city centre over ten packed August days, it provides a variegated cultural and educational programme for visitors of all ages.

Pomurje Summer Festival

Taking place in August in Velika Polana, the one-week Pomurje Summer Festival is the biggest event of the Pomurje region. The festival follows a programming policy of ‘something for everyone’.

Ptuj Folk-pop Music Festival

The Ptuj Folk-pop Music Festival is the oldest and most prestigious event of its kind in Slovenia. The first edition was organised in 1969 by Radio Ptuj, which thus joined in the celebrations marking the 1900th anniversary of the first recorded mention of the City of Ptuj. The festival is held in late August or early September.

Punk Rock Holiday

A result of the merger between two events, the promising Trbovlje-based Šklabfest and Ajdovščina-based Njoki Summer Festival, Punk Rock Holiday has evolved into the biggest punk-rock festival in the region. Tolmin’s Sotočje creates an idyllic setting for the festival that traces its beginnings to 2011. Running over the course of four early-August days, the festival features some of the most prominent international punk-rock acts.

Rad bi bil normalen Festival

Taking place in the village of Ravne pri Cerknem since 1999, the Rad bi bil normalen Festival (I Want to Be Normal Festival) presents the latest musical offering from Slovenia’s alternative artists and recently also foreign performers. The festival aims to cater for the needs of the local community, a rural region deprived of the vibrant cultural life of big cities.
