The wall paintings of Brežice Castle’s Knight’s Hall are a unique example of secular baroque frescoes on Slovenian territory. Frescoed in its entirety, the magnificent hall frequently hosts classical and early music concerts. Location: Brežice

MC Brežice, short for Brežice Youth Centre, is a public institution in Brežice that organises diverse educational and cultural events, mainly aimed at young people. Established in 1997 by the Municipality of Brežice, the youth centre is located on the premises of a former House of the Yugoslav People’s Army. The centre’s activities include concerts, stage productions, lectures and workshops. The venue also runs a hostel. Location: Brežice

The ensemble Brina and its frontwoman, singer, musician, puppet maker and designer Brina Vogelnik perform both their own songs and songs from the traditional folk music repertoire. They enrich the typically Slovenian sound with their own vision and energy and successfully navigate between the traditional and jazz music with a hint of cabaret. In 2006, the group performed at Womex – World Music Expo in Seville and presented itself in Charlie Gillett’s show on BBC World Service.

The attractive Milan-based music selector Brina Knauss, who pursued a successful career in modelling, is an established name in the world of house music. She started out on her DJ career by performing at high-profile events such as the Milan Fashion Week’s Fashion Vogue, followed by gigs at clubs as prominent as Factory (Milan), Peter Pan (Riccione), the Hollywood Club (Milan), Stardust by Club Haus in Courmayeur (Aosta) and the Buddha Bar in Budapest. In the 2014/15 season Brina was resident DJ of Milan’s celebrated Stardust by Clubhaus venue. In 2015 she was the resident DJ of the B&B event at the notorious Ushuai Club (Ibiza), where she shared the bill with the scene’s top-tier artists, most notably Nico Fanciulli.

Britof is a trio from Slovenj Gradec, which plays ultra-heavy rock ‘n’ roll with elements of explosive stoner rock, sloweddown doom and sludge metal.

One of the latest additions to Novo mesto’s music scene, BrivBARnica has soon developed into one of the most interesting and popular venues in Novo mesto. Its story began with Barber Room by Edis, one of Slovenia’s most famous barber shops that expanded to include a bar in 2018. The venue occasionally provides refreshments and features numerous weekend concerts. Location: Novo mesto

The Broken Lock ensemble, established in 1995, first introduced in its sound elements of harder rock styles, such as punk, heavy metal, grunge, hardcore and psychedelia. Later the group focused on stoner rock.

BUMfest is the only percussion group festival in Slovenia.

The themed bar is situated in the Slovenian town of Murska Sobota and stuns with its steampunk interiors and wide selection of food and drinks. Its aim is to transport patrons into a fictitious post-apocalyptic future where territories are controlled by clans, and everything around has been destroyed or polluted.
