Vanillaz

The Croatian-Slovenian DJ duo Vanillaz collaborates with the Los Angeles-based label Global Production MGMT, Thrive Records, Sony Entertainment (ROW) and Universal (North America). The duo authored hits that were picked up by major outlet giants: Bloomingdale, Macy`s, Abercrombie & Fitch and H&M. They have performed at festivals all over the globe, on the main stages of MTV Europe, Kings Day Netherlands, Miami Music Week, ADE, WMC Miami, ATP, Ultra Europe and Ultra Korea). Their music is also promoted by major DJs, such as Tiesto, Martin Garrix, David Guetta and others.

Vasko Atanasovski

Saxophonist and flautist Vasko Atanasovski (1977) came to national and international prominence as an artist who blends jazz with classical music and traditional styles, from klezmer to the music of the Near and Far East. Besides regularly appearing at European concert venues, Atanasovski has toured China, India and Argentina, to name but a few.

Mark Jacob Cavazza is a young rapper from Ljubljana, who lays down rhymes under the name of Vazz.

Vedun Ensemble

The ensemble Vedun channels the guided sound of the original Cosmic Intelligence and the energy-frequency waving, which we call the Master Teachers of the Universe, with shaman instruments of diverse peoples of the world that were used by diverse ethnic groups for spiritual healing and self-realization. The performers are the media for sound which comes with Cosmic guidance in order to benefit all the present and to harmonize all the bodies (mental, emotional, spiritual) and souls (and indirectly also the physical body); they are also the performers in the ensembles Trutamora Slovenica and Truta.

Velenje House of Culture

Venue

An urban arts and culture centre, Velenje House of Culture’s mission is to implement a programme that includes cultural events, celebrations and commemorations, film screenings, symposia, etc. Designed by architect Oton Gaspari, the cultural centre opened in 1959. Velenje House of Culture enjoys the status of built cultural heritage pursuant to the Republic of Slovenia’s Ordinance Designating Velenje House of Culture as a cultural monument of local importance in the area of Municipality of Velenje. Veronika Kumar

Artist

Veronike Kumar is a singer who studied at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet under professor Nada Žgur in 2011. In 2014, the musician was admitted to the Amsterdam Conservatory (majoring in jazz vocals), where she perfected her skills and began writing original music. She participated in several creative-educational meetings and workshops (Jazz Kamp Kranj, Kreativna Jazz Klinika Velenje, Jazz Impro Norway), where she had the opportunity to work with world-class musicians (Joe Sanders, Gregory Hutchinson, Shai Maestro, Charles Altura, Philip Dizack, Olga Konkova, Ulf Bandgren). She performed with renowned musicians such as Drago Gajo, Blaž Jurjevčič, Nikola Matošič, Miha Koren, Gašper Bertoncelj, Anže Vrabec, Erik Marenče, Rok Zalokar, Nejc Škofic, Rebeka Zajc, Žiga Smrdel, Primož Podobnik, Rok Nemanič and many others. She is currently studying and creating in Amsterdam.

Vetrinje Mansion

A multipurpose event, exhibition and production venue, Vetrinje Mansion’s main goal is to offer support to non-governmental cultural organisations and facilitate their programmes. Vičstock Festival

Festival

Launched in 1994 by Vič Grammar School students, Vičstock provides a showcase for young people’s music. The festival aims to promote young, unestablished music groups. At an audition, a jury composed of competent representatives of the music industry selects who gets to perform at the May outdoor festival.

Vid Drašler

Artist

Vid Drašler comes from Bistrica ob Sotli, where he initially performed with the jazz-rock band Zmajev rep and with the ensemble Malik. He has performed with ensembles Balžalorsky-Drašler 3o, Orkestrada and Drašler-Karlovčec-Drašler trio. He has also collaborated in theatre projects and with the jazz group Zlatko Kaučič Kombo. For four years, he studied jazz in the class of Zlatko Kaučič and shared the stage with musicians such as Vitja Balžalorsky, Jošt Drašler, Marko Karlovčec, Andrej Boštjančič, Andrej Fon, Tomaž Grom, Cene Resnik, Kaja Draksler, Mario Rechtern, Linda Sharrock, Petr Zelenka, Samo Kutin, Tao G. Vrhovec Sambolec and others.

Vid Jamnik

After obtaining primary music education (percussion instruments), vibraphonist Vid Jamnik (1993) furthered his musical studies in Austria at the Jazz Department of the Carinthian State Conservatory of Music in Klagenfurt and then at Berklee College of Music, which presented him with The Most Active Mallet Performer Award in his first semester.
