Swingatan is an acoustic quintet consisting of violin, two guitars, piano accordion, and double bass. The ensemble performs original music rooted in the swing and bossa nova of the 1930s and 1940s, as well as in the tradition of gypsy jazz inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, enriched by the distinctive sound of the piano accordion. Their repertoire includes ballads, classically influenced études, and compositionally demanding pieces with a pronounced rhythmic character. The members of the ensemble are active jazz and classical musicians both in Slovenia and internationally, and Swingatan is their ongoing, regular project.

Širom is a Slovenian trio consisting of Ana Kravanja, Samo Kutin, and Iztok Koren. The members come from Prekmurje, the Tolmin area, and the Karst region. Their music blends elements of folk, improvised, and classical music with psychedelic influences. They use a variety of traditional and handmade instruments. The band has released several albums, including The Liquified Throne of Simplicity (2022), and has toured across Europe.

The instrumental ensemble ŠKM band, established in 2000 in Beltinci, creates its music at the intersection of rock, noise rock and jazz rock.

The Castle houses the Loka Museum collections, which display the historical cultural, artistic, ethnological and natural heritage of the Škofja Loka area, and occasionally hosts diverse cultural and music events. Location: Škofja Loka

The tower’s highly unique architecture provides an intimate atmosphere for concerts. The venue is managed by the Layer House. Location: Kranj

Located in the historic town centre of Ljubljana, Škuc Centre and Gallery are managed by the Škuc Society, a non-governmental organisation. Concerts are occasionally presented here. Škuc Gallery has been immortalised as a music venue for some groundbreaking concerts that have crucially shaped the history of Slovenian pop music. Location: Ljubljana

The main goal of Špajz, a multi-purpose venue managed by MAD Society, is to provide education, creative leisure activities and cultural activities, including music concerts. Location: Slovenj Gradec

Španski borci Culture Centre (Spanish Fighters) is one of Ljubljana’s main cultural institutions. The building – a post-war architectural gem – was designed by a leading post-war Slovenian architect, Oton Jugovec. It was built in 1981 and forms part of Slovenia’s twentieth-century architectural heritage. After its renovation in 2009, management of the quietly elegant building was taken over by the EN-KNAP Institute.
