The group Čaralice, led by the versatile artist Zvezdana Novaković, performed at the Positive Futures festival in Innsbruck, Austria at the end of October and captivated the local audience.

Although the Positive Futures Festival is still young - it has been held in the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck only since 2023 - it has quickly established itself not only in Austria but also internationally. This year it lasted ten days, during which 40 musicians or groups performed at eight different venues across Innsbruck.

“It was wonderful! The venue was exceptional, and so was the audience, from whom we received many compliments. The girls were very happy too,” said Zvezdana Novaković, the leader of the eight-member women’s ensemble, which performed at the festival’s main venue, the Treibhaus cultural center.

“At the beginning they were forced to improvise a bit, but then they decided not to perform on the stage, but in front of it, practically among the audience, and this turned out to be an excellent decision,” said Martin Bleicher, the festival’s artistic director, who invited Čaralice to Innsbruck after seeing their acclaimed concert at this year’s MENT festival in Ljubljana.

“For me, together with John Francis Flynn and These New Puritans, they were the highlight of the evening,” Bleicher concluded.
