Music Meets Film 2026 Open Call for Participants

Applications are now open for Music Meets Film 2026, an interdisciplinary programme bringing together composers, directors, music and sound creatives, producers, agents, and professionals from across the music and film industries.

The programme runs online from 26 October to 15 November 2026, followed by an on-site programme in Tallinn during Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event from 16–20 November 2026.

Highlights of the 2026 edition include:

“Director-Composer Lab: Composing the Cut”, a workshop-masterclass organised in collaboration with Baltic Film, Media and Arts School (BFM)

“Dialogue on Contracts: Hot Seat in Negotiation”, a panel-workshop in collaboration with law firm TEGOS, led by attorney-at-law and partner Priit Lätt and producer Helen Lõhmus (Zolba Productions)

The main sponsor and partner of Music Meets Film is Tallinn UNESCO City of Music. Programme partners include Baltic Film, Media and Arts School (BFM), Orchestral Tools, OTICONS Film Music Agency, and TEGOS.

Who Can Apply?

Music Meets Film is designed for emerging talents in film music and audiovisual collaboration, with a focus on young professionals looking to strengthen their careers and expand international networks.

Applicants must:
Be aged 21–35 during the programme period
Be available for both the online section (26 October–15 November 2026) and the in-person programme (16–20 November 2026)
Submit a complete application between 23 April and 31 May 2026
Provide examples of original work via downloadable links

A total of 8 international participants will be selected.

Participation Fee
Selected participants are required to pay an accreditation fee of €250, which includes:

Mentorship

Accommodation for 5 nights

Access to film screenings at the Black Nights Film Festival

Evening events

Participation in additional Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event activities


Please note that travel costs are not covered and participants are expected to arrange and finance their own round-trip airfare. Applicants are encouraged to seek support from local film institutes, film funds, or composers’ unions.


Since its launch, Music Meets Film (MMF) has grown into a recognised platform for film and film music professionals. Since adopting a renewed format in 2023, the programme has increasingly focused on supporting emerging talent and facilitating new creative partnerships.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by the programme manager based on:
Professional background
Motivation for career development
Artistic quality

Final participants will be notified by 15 July 2026, with results communicated directly and through festival and industry channels.
