Slovenian acts at PIN Skopje
The PIN Music Conference is the only showcase festival in Skopje, North Macedonia. This year marks its 11th edition, taking place from November 28th to 30th. Representing Slovenia at the event are MRFY, Sašo Vollmaier, and Astrid-.
MRFY
November 30th, Saturday, 21:00 @ DANCING HALL
The most successful indie rock band in Slovenia in the past 5 years. Frequently selling out 1000-2000 capacity venues, MRFY are a indie rock/pop/fun phenomenon, consisting of vocalist and guitarist Gregor Strasbergar, bass guitarist/keyboard player Lenart Merlin, guitarist/keyboard player Tomaž Zupančič and drummer Rok Klobučar. After a couple of early singles and an EP “A Side of the Story” the band released their debut album Story in September 2018 on a SonicTribe label. The album was well received by the audiences as well as critics, and the group released a total of nine singles and videos from it, which they supported with numerous performances throughout Slovenia.
Sašo Vollmaier

Vollmaier is Slovenian pianist mostly known for his bold solo projects which he combines with different fields of art. His most notable solos are “Vollmaier:Kind of Laibach” and “Vollmaier:Ligeti (How to explain Ligeti to a dead audience)” , both were premiered at Cankarjev dom. His personal breakthroughs have shown his ability to play within different boundaries- between the classical and the improvisational worlds. He searches for the warmth in darker area of his expression. This is one of the reasons that this quality was recognised by Yamaha, where he was recognised as Yamaha artist (April 2023). In recent years he has been active in the fields of performance and theater. His performances include stage sound design with the interventions of movement and spoken words. Vollmaier creates music for dance and theater performances. His passion for the human voice led him to the “Centre Artistique International Roy Hart (CAIRH)” in the south of France, where he shares his research and knowledge as a teacher and musical co-director for vocal works.

ASTRID- is versatile, enigmatic and theatrical. Her vocal abilities vary from contemporary styles to operatic dramatic soprano inserts, as well as profound harp playing abilities. She is a songwriter who creates a broad concept around each and every lyric she writes, and a musician with a rich background and promising future. She is a music video directress/producer, as well as a visual artist in collage and recycled art. She is a front-woman/manager of the alternative band Astrid & The Scandals, currently touring Europe and releasing their upcoming album 18:48. She will be performing an alternative/experimental harp/vocal set.
