Transatlantic Stars 2027: Opportunity for European Musicians in the USA

The Delegation of the European Union to the United States is launching the 2027 edition of Transatlantic Rising Stars, also known as Transatlantic Stars — a programme creating opportunities for European artists to connect with the U.S. cultural landscape and collaborate with American artists.

Music Programme

As part of the Music Programme, five European songwriters and performers will spend two weeks in Cleveland, Ohio, exploring the local music scene and industry and working closely with American musicians.

Each selected participant will be paired with an American musician for professional studio sessions and co-writing. The programme will culminate in live performances, first in Cleveland and subsequently in Washington, D.C. The programme is open to rising mid-career EU songwriters and performers.

Selected Music Programme participants will receive:

  • - international and domestic travel,

  • - accommodation,

  • - visa assistance,

  • -meals,

  • - on-the-ground support in Cleveland.

The programme offers European musicians an opportunity to develop new creative collaborations, connect with the U.S. music industry and gain first-hand experience of the American music scene.

About Translatlantic Stars

Transatlantic Stars is a three-year initiative of the European Union Delegation to the U.S., based in Washington, D.C. The programme aims to foster artistic development, dialogue and collaboration between European and American artists, while creating opportunities for artists on both sides of the Atlantic.

In addition to the Music Programme, Transatlantic Stars also includes programmes for visual artists and filmmakers.

In June 2027, participants from all three programmes will come together in Washington, D.C. for a shared opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and collaborate as a multimedia artist cohort, culminating in a public event produced by the Delegation of the European Union to the U.S.
