freekind. in South Korea

The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Seoul will host a special international cooperation event between Slovenia and South Korea on September 24, 2025, as part of the public diplomacy week Honeymoon Week.

The event, dedicated to strengthening intercultural ties and promoting the green transition, will feature performances by the internationally successful Slovenian-Croatian duo freekind. and Korean guests dal:um.

The event will be attended by representatives of diplomacy, cultural sectors, the Korean music industry, business representatives, and Korean media. In addition to the Embassy in Seoul, the project is supported by SIGIC – Slovenian Music Information Centre (Music Slovenia), We Move Music Croatia, and Korean corporate sponsors HL Group, Kallos Media, Panasonic, and LSS Engineering.

For freekind., who are already collaborating creatively and in production with the Korean music industry, this will be their first performance in South Korea. In addition to the concert at the embassy, the duo will also perform as part of their tour on September 20 at the Block Party Festival (Haebangchon – Seoul) and on September 23 at Club Jebidabang (Sangsu-dong – Seoul). After the tour, freekind. will participate in an artistic residency on Jeju Island, where they will once again collaborate with Korean music producers.

SIGIC – Slovenian Music Information Centre launched a four-year public cultural program for the international promotion of Slovenian music, Music Slovenia, this year. The program is funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia. Its goal is to strengthen the support environment for greater representation and visibility of Slovenian music abroad. Supporting freekind.’s tour in South Korea is the first event where Music Slovenia is officially and comprehensively involved in the planning, co-organization, and implementation of an international cultural project.
