Just over two weeks before the 11th edition of the showcase festival and conference MENT, we will focus on showcase festivals, their purpose, and their practical applications at SIGIC. These festivals offer a concentrated opportunity to enhance an artist’s career by providing direct connections with diverse players in the music industry.

The lecture will cover the general usefulness of showcase festivals for both music professionals and artists. We’ll discuss when it makes sense to start attending and applying for these events, as well as what to do before, during, and after the festival. In the second part, we’ll focus on the upcoming MENT programme and how to make the most of it, with time reserved for questions.

Andraž Kajzer is the director of the MENT Ljubljana festival. His extensive experience in the music industry includes roles as a music editor and journalist, concert organizer, label operator, manager, and booker.

Miran Rusjan is the head of the MENT Ljubljana conference and the founder of the Moonlee Records label, which has represented the alternative scene from the broader region for 21 years. Over time, Moonlee has also evolved into a concert agency, managing artists such as KOIKOI, Repetitor, Lelee, Žen, Damir Avdić, Seine, and Moveknowledgement.
