Festival
Taking place in Maribor in November, the International Festival of Computer Arts – IFCA has done pioneering work in presenting the theory and artistic practice of computer arts and new media in Slovenia and beyond.
Festival
Organised in memory of Slovenian composer Marij Kogoj, the International Festival of Contemporary Music – Kogoj’s Days takes place in the town of Kanal ob Soči. The festival was established in 1979 on the initiative of maestro Anton Nanut and Marjan Gabrijelčič, a composer and long-standing dean of the Academy of Music.
Festival
Organised in Nova Gorica since 1996, the International Saxophone Meeting embraces a festival, an international saxophone competition and a workshop on jazz improvisation.
Venue
The venue takes its name from the Ipavec family – doctors, patriots and composers. The concepts inherent in the Cultural House’s architectural design are pulse (medicine), the familiarity of home (patriotism) and rhythm (music). The aspects of domestic intimacy and tradition are represented in natural materials or those familiar to us. The exterior facade is designed as a ‘music stave’, thus abstractly symbolising musical creativity of the Ipavec composers. Unique atmospheres pervade each of the venue’s halls, whose design is based on rhythm and pulsation that envelop spectators during performances. Location: Šentjur
Institution
The Institute for Protection of Phonogram Performers and Producers Rights – IPF was established as a non-profit organisation for collective assertion and protection of rights of phonogram performers and producers pursuant to the Copyright and Related Rights Act – ZASP-UPB3. IPF is the only Slovenian organisation to collectively protect related rights of Slovenia’s phonogram performers and producers at home and abroad and, on the basis of international agreements, also bring into force and protect the rights of foreign performers and producers of phonograms in Slovenia.

"Indie pop rock guitars are still alive and well, but they live in Goriška region. It's not that there is a shortage of guitar bands here, especially considering global trends, where after 2010 they landed far from their former pedestal. Traditions with competitions and festivals still have their own meaning. And on the debut 1½ there is relaxation, liveliness and freshness." Jaša Lorenčič
