Study Music Business Online at Bifröst University (Iceland)
Bifröst University in Iceland, in collaboration with the Iceland University of the Arts, is offering an international Micro-credential in Music Business worth 12 ECTS credits. The programme is taught entirely online and in English, making it accessible to participants from Slovenia and beyond.
About the Programme
The goal of the Music Business Micro-credential is to provide students with insight into the rapidly evolving music industry and to strengthen their ability to recognize and take advantage of professional opportunities within creative and cultural sectors.
The programme combines theoretical knowledge with practical, real-world skills, focusing on areas such as marketing, management, strategy, and digital development in the music industry.
Teaching methods include theory, hands-on exercises, and case studies, giving students a realistic understanding of how the contemporary music industry operates on both national and international levels.
The micro-programme is developed with the support of the University Collaboration Initiative of the Icelandic Ministry of Higher Education.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must have completed:
A matriculation examination (stúdentspróf),
Preparatory university studies, or
An equivalent university entrance-level educational qualification.
To receive ECTS credits, applicants must meet the university entrance-level certification requirement.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion, students will:
Understand the structure and functioning of the music industry nationally and internationally
Gain insight into the roles and responsibilities of key music industry professionals
Understand the impact of digital technologies and social media on marketing, distribution, and career development
Apply music business concepts in real-world tasks such as contract negotiation, marketing campaigns, and project management
Develop skills in creating digital marketing and promotional materials for music projects and artists
Assessment
Assessment is based on:
Individual and group assignments
Active participation
Practical exercises reflecting real working environments
Students complete both academic and applied projects related to marketing, management, and strategic development.
Tuition Fee
150,000 ISK (≈ 1008 EUR)
Upon Completion
Participants receive an official confirmation of completion specifying the number of ECTS credits earned, along with a transcript of records.
This study path does not lead to a full degree. Students completing individual courses receive a transcript for each completed course.
