Hailing from Portorož, Denis Jašarević, better known as Gramatik, is an electronic music artist based in New York. Ever since his first live performance in 2009 Gramatik has been in the international spotlight, playing headline shows and resonating with appreciative audiences across the globe. At a time when most musicians and the music industry struggled to hold on to their old sources of income, Gramatik dove headfirst into the future as he envisioned it – sharing torrent files. The motto that Gramatik has since lived by is “free music by making music free.” He has played numerous sold-out concerts in all hemispheres of the Earth, given an interview for the CNN and shared the stage with the legendary Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon at the Coachella Festival. His track Torture, recorded together with Eric Krasno, was used for the Narcos series trailer.

Greg Black & The Bad Notion is an energetic musical trio that is firmly establishing itself as one of the most attractive blues rock attractions in Slovenia. An exciting feature of their performances are deeply felt blues tones, which they tastefully combine with the lightness of funk on the one hand and the weight of hard rock on the other. The resulting mixture regularly impresses a wide audience, and does not leave even the most demanding music connoisseurs indifferent. Whether it is the intimacy of a small stage, the spectacle of a large concert, or something in between, with their energetic and tireless performance they leave a unique mark wherever they appear.

The beginnings of Gromka go back to 1995 and a theatre space called Teater Gromki, whose collective consisted of artists working in different types of performing arts. Gradually joined by various individuals, the theatre was eventually repurposed as a club. Gromka’s current informal collective comprises an eclectic bunch of writers, musicians and film enthusiasts. Not only a concert venue, Gromka resembles a jigsaw puzzle, morphing from a lecture hall into a cinema, doubling as a living room and then transforming into a theatre. Gromka supports diverse urban (sub)cultural and disregarded-music practices, encourages political activism and informal education based on the non-profit ‘DIY’ principle. Location: Ljubljana
