The festival of youth culture is a nine-day lasting, international festival of culture with a 20-year tradition that takes place in the second half of August on a multitude of locations throughout Velenje.

The Beached Whale Festival (Festival nasedlega kita) is proud to be the only festival dedicated to beached whales. It is a creative one-day summer music festival held at Škale Lake near Velenje since 2011. It predominantly features electronic music and some alternative rock bands.

The Festival of Slovenian Jazz, taking place over the course of several days in the third week of October in Ravne na Koroškem, aims to give an overview of Slovenia’s current jazz output featuring artists of various musical orientations.

A socially engaged and sustainability-oriented summer festival, the Festival of Urban Culture Slovenia (FUKSi) follows current trends. Aiming to present Slovenia as a comprehensive festival adventure destination – “The City of Slovenia” – FUKSi attracts national and international audiences.

Cmakajne is a multi-day festival of youthful creativity that takes place in Cerkno every September. The festival caters to an openminded and young-at-heart audience, which is interested in discovering new forms of art and multimedia.

The festival Pivo in Cvetje Laško (Beer and Flowers Laško) was established in 1963 and takes place annually in the visitor friendly destination of Laško. There have been around a thousand music groups and solo musicians that performed for many millions of visitors at the festival through the years. Every third week in July, Laško becomes the epicenter of the country and attracts many loyal international music lovers to its stages of popular music.

The Floating Castle Festival is an international festival of ethnic music, theatre, puppets and other genres of visual arts, which takes place near and about the Snežnik Castle in the Loška dolina valley. At the end of July, the Snežnik Castle receives around 300 artists from all over the world who se up special installations and transform the natural environment into unique venues. A major attraction of the festival is also the 80-member international Etno Histeria World Orchestra.

The three-week Festival Poleti v NUK (Summer in NUK) is held in July at the atrium of the national and University Library in Ljubljana. Evenings are primarily dedicated to singer-songwriters and music genres such as chanson, jazz, ethnic and world music, as well as theatre performances.

The folk music festival "Števerjan" was organized for the first time in 1971. The event takes place on the first weekend in July among the Borovci in Števerjan. It is organized by the Slovenian Catholic Educational Association Frančišek Borgia Sedej, based in Števerjan. The festival is considered one of the oldest festivals of its kind, only the festival in Ptuj is older than it. In 2020, the 50th anniversary festival took place.

Festival veteranskih godb (Festival of Senior Bands) takes place in July, each year hosted by a different Slovenian town.
