Gabi98

Artist

Gabi98 is the coordinator of the collective Nimaš Izbire. He co-organises the event series *Krom and Štrom at Metelkova, K4 and elsewhere, produces a clothing line and works with digital art. As a DJ and producer, he operates with a wide array of underground internet-based electronic music, covering anything from ambient soundscapes to hardcore rave bombs. His prefered area is somewhere between the trance nostalgia of the noughties, the chaotic present and the apocalyptic future. His mixes are full of unexpected turns, unusual combinations and inspiring selections.

Gaj Bostič

Artist

Drummer Gaj Bostič has been sharing the stage with rock and jazz bands since the age of 11. He finished the Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory and studied jazz at the private Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK). He has trained with mentors such as Gregory Hutchinson, Krunoslav Levačič, Dom Famularo, Jonas Burgwinkel and John Hollenback. In 2018 he joined Pi Jammies (now P'Jays) as a permanent member and recorded two albums with the band. For two years he was a member of the Ljubljana Academy of Music Big Band. He is also a member of Spiral Mind and Hei'An.

Gal Faganel

Artist

Gal Faganel is an acclaimed cello performer, teacher, and recording artist, praised for his “exceptionally sensitive interpretation,” “powerful tone,” and “brilliant virtuosity.” He has performed extensively in recital, chamber music, and as a soloist across North America and Europe. Until 2010, he was the principal cellist of the Phoenix Symphony. Faganel has won several international competitions, including the “Antonio Janigro” Cello Competition and the American String Teacher’s Association Competition. Since 2006, he has focused on Slovenian cello music. He has recorded for National Radio Slovenia, Holland Radio, and KUSC Los Angeles. Faganel holds a doctorate from the University of Southern California and studied with prominent mentors including Eleonore Schoenfeld and Nathaniel Rosen.

Gal Furlan

Artist

Drummer and percussionist Gal Furlan’s areas of activity are jazz, rock and other pop-music genres. He has honed his djembe playing skills at an African drumming workshop.

Gal George Gjurin

Artist

Gal Gjurin gained renown as the leader of Olivija and subsequently carved out a solo career. He is a multi-instrumentalist, lyricist, composer, producer, arranger and singer-songwriter. His genres include pop, pop rock, folk and chanson. Gal often collaborates with his sister, vocalist Severa Gjurin.

Gala Hala

Venue

The largest club of the Metelkova mesto Alternative Culture Centre, Gala Hala hosts concerts by major underground music artists stopping in Ljubljana on their tours. In addition to featuring music concerts, the club provides a venue for video screenings, live DJ appearances, and various themed evenings. In the summer, most of the concerts and other events organised by Gala Hala are held at the open-air venue set up in the club's back garden, which admits up to 900 people. This interesting club occasionally hosts events that form part of Ljubljana's major festivals, including Druga godba. Location: Ljubljana

Galerija Bar Trenutek

Venue

In 2016, Bar Trenutek was taken over by a young collective, which opened up an entirely new chapter in the establishment’s 20-year history. The venue’s refurbishment led to a new clientele and a markedly different atmosphere. Catering for music lovers, the Bar’s admission-free live-music concerts are held under the common title Free Pajzl Art Events. Being a most intimate venue, all featured concerts provide for a unique experience. Location: Ljubljana
